Up for sale is a really clean nice example of an Antique Sessions Mantel Clock. This Turn of the Century clock is an 8 Day clock that chimes on the hour with a nice gong and on the half hour with a Bell chime. The face is porcelain and in excellent condition as is the glass and the original hands. It is also signed Sessions at the bottom of the face. This clock has its original movement and runs well. It comes with the original pendulum and a correct key. The Bee Hive case is of quarter sawn oak and has a beautiful finish with a slight small chip off the back of the case as seen in the picture but does not take away from the appearance as it is at the rear. This armorial plate is reticulated and features an eagle bearing laurel in one talon and a quiver of arrows in the other. 13 stars form a constellation above the eagle who is holding a banner in its beak. It bears The beehive mark of Royal Vienna which was actually manufactured by a number of studios. It is numbered in gilded numbers “2251”. The foot is also pierced so that it may be hung from the wall as a display piece. The rim is nicely gilded. The overall condition is excellent.
