This is very rare to have a double beehive shaped preserve pots with bee finials on a twig shaped stand. The bee finials are brass and the only damage to the glass is a few very small nibbles to the left pot where the spoon sits. The right pot has no damage. The stand on each pot should have 4 leaves as holders on each side but, only have 3 each intact. Minor damage considering the age and rarity.

The match striker is by Doulton Lambeth, and is a glazed light tan brown, with 2 little white bees on the front! There is space in the middle to hold matches, and the hive acts as a rough striker around the outside. This is a very rare piece by Doulton, and the backstamp indicates that it was produced from 1891 onwards. The striker is in good condition with no chips or cracks, and the colour is good. There is some natural wear and a few teeny weeny flea bites, really just due to age. 6cm high, and has the Doulton Lambeth impressed backstamp on the base. Rare c1869 English Aesthetic’Beehive’ inkwell with Agate Bodies, London, hardstone mounted gilt bronze, the inkwell modeled as a beehive formed from wound rope, the hinged lid opening to bronze/glass inkwell insert in perfect condition, together with a matching pen tray, equally stunning all decorated with agate and ormolu bees, the inset inkwell signed Howell James and Co. This rare and stunning piece is offered in fantastic condition. The agate bodies of the bees are beautifully carved and coloured. There is a slight unevenness to one base edge, not major, otherwise offered in fabulous condition. These inkwells are exceptionally rare to find, beautifully marked to the edge of the inkwell base with a Victorian lozenge stamp indicating date of manufacture, and also stamped G. The full English design registration diamond-shaped lozenge can be found, dating the piece to 1869. The makers initials also present, G. B & Sons to the edge. The Inkwell 13.5cm x 13.5cm x 10cm. Extremely Rare Authentic Original Edwardian Art Deco Early 1900s 14K Gold Tiny Miniature Highly Detailed Three Dimensional Full Body Free Standing Bee Hive Eckfeldt & Ackley Pendant Charm?? Fully hallmarked on the bale 14K followed by the Eckfeldt & Ackley Inc. Eckfeldt & Ackley were active from 1896 to 1937 in Newark New Jersey. Weighs approximately 1.8 grams. Approximately 8.6 mm (5.2/16 of an inch) in height from bee head top to rectangular bottom base which is 8.2 mm (4.8/16 of an inch) x 8 mm (4.7/16 of an inch). The bee being approximately 4 mm (2.4/16 of an inch) in length and approximately 3 mm (1.9/16 of an inch) in width, furthest wing edges. The tiny bee is so finely detailed that with a magnifying loop one can even see its mandibles attached to the bee hive, no photos can do this art piece justice since one truly needs a magnifying loop to appreciate all the tiny details! Miniature sculpture at its best of a bee and its hive in solid 14K gold! One of the earliest and nicest bee charms I have encountered, I have seen countless copies and fakes, so finding this authentic original one is a treasure of a sweet treat!
