FLAT PACKED NATIONAL BEEHIVE – FREE P&P TO MAINLAND UK. A complete, FLAT PACKED , National Beehive made by Thornes in our factory in Lincolnshire. Made from home grown Cedar from sustainable forests. Timber may have solid live knots. All frames are second quality and made predominantly from Russian Redwood. Brood body with 11 D. 4 frames on metal runners with standard wired foundation. Two supers each with 10 SN1 frames on metal castellations with 20 sheets of british standard shallow wired foundation. Crownboard with two plastic porter bee escapes. Instructions, nails and glue. Get it fast – we offer overnight courier as standard to most of the mainland UK if ordered before 3pm. The couriers do not deliver during the weekend. Check out my other items. A Garden Tidy or Compost Bin handmade to look like a Victorian “WBC” Beehive. The original Beehive was designed by the Rev. William Broughton Carr in 1890. It was superseded by The “National” as a more practical beehive in the last century. The “WBC” however, continues to evoke the image of a Victorian English Garden. Made from FSE Timber derived from Sustainable Managed Forests, this is a practical compost maker or a Garden Tidy or a lovely garden feature. They are handmade to order. Available in a choice of colours; Traditional White, Country Cream, Sage Green, Forget-Me-Not Blue (light), Barleywood Blue (Dark), Lilac, Lavender or Hot Pink! Or they can be painted in any colour in the Cuprinol range of garden paints. Built in sections for easy moving, and measuring 3′ (91cms) High by 2′ (61cms) Square. Each one has a hinged roof with a prop and a removable bottom front panel for access to compost, if you are going to use it as a compost bin. The Old Grain Store exhibited with the “WBC” Beehive at The Chelsea flower show for eight years. It was also featured in Country Living magazine and The Daily Telegraph Gardening section.
