This is a rare Seth Thomas bronze or brass cased mantel clock. The clock is in nice condition and appears to be very original with a nice patina and great look. It’s a super heavy, all metal case (except the seat board) with an 8 or 15? The clock was allowed to run for a few hours and performed without issue. It chimes when the hands are cycled and ran continuously. It has not been tested for accuracy or run duration and the last service is unknown. It’s a rare clock in nice condition and appears to be very original with original patina. It’s priced to sell so don’t miss it! There is a lot to read about this Seth Thomas Clock. Antique Seth Thomas Retro Westminster Chime Mahogany Beehive Shelf Mantle Clock. Seth Thomas Clock Company. This model number is shown in the Seth Thomas Tran Duy Ly Book. Original factory finish on this ribbon mahogany cabinet. The clock also has a raised trim over the center part of the front of the cabinet. The clock has seen very good care and there are no signs of neglect or abuse. This Seth Thomas Westminster chime clock has been sitting for over thirty years in my collection, it will require restoration. This Westminster Chime Clock was another Seth Thomas Classic of the 1940’s. The 5 3/8 inch raised timetrack along with the fancy open cut Deco style brass hands give the dial and extremely stylish look against the mahogany cabinet. This clock shows no signs of abuse or neglect. With normal restoration on the movement you will have a great Westminster chime clock. The springs are fine in the clock. This clock also has its original brass bezel and convex glass to protect the dial. Also the Seth Thomas name can be found on the dial as well. This clock measures 8 1/4 inches in length by 10 3/4 inches in height. The cabinet has its original factory mahogany finish and it still retains a nice shine after 80 years after leaving the Seth Thomas factory. The case has a little wear on it as you can see this in my photo’s but it is an used antique and this would have some on it. The case is in very good condition there are no broken or missing trim pieces and there are no loose joints or anything coming apart. Seth Thomas quality and craftsmanship all the way in this clock. Original Seth Thomas cast iron & brass pendulum disc & winding key. The movement model is a Seth Thomas 124 movement it is in very good operating condition. It is a eight day spring wound time & strike movement that announces and counts the quarter hours leading up to the hour. It announces a tune for the first quarter hour followed by a another tune for the half hour and three tunes for the 3/4 hour leading up to playing four tunes and then proceeding to count the desired hour it is on. This chime system works off of 5 chime hammers on five good quality chime rods. This movement was also ultrasonically cleaned and oiled. This movement has been keeping good time here at the house and striking the hour and half hour correctly as well. These clocks do require proper set up and adjustments to make them fully operational and to get 100 percent enjoyment out of the delicate instruments. I have for sale a beautiful antique Seth Thomas beehive chime cabinet clock. This particular clock has the fancier dial and is in overall very good to great condition. There’s a little flake chip inside the door that you can see in the (7th) photo above. There’s also one small little scuff at the top but overall this is a very nice clock. The clock has been keeping time and chiming just fine. Inside the clock there was an envelope with some information about the previous owners. This clock is in near pristine condition. The wood cabinet and finish are exceptionally good and the chimes are in full operational order. Antique Seth Thomas 8 Day “Beehive” Style Striking Mantle Clock. This beautifully styled clock was made by The Seth Thomas Clock Co. In Thomaston, Connecticut, USA during the earlier 1900’s. It features a quality Seth Thomas #89 movement which has been cleaned and is in good running order, keeping time and gonging properly. The nicely styled mahogany case is still in the original finish. It is in very good condition and beautiful in appearance. The original painted dial and brass bezel assembly is also in remarkable shape. The dial shows some age and the brass is tarnished, but it would be hard to find one this old in any better condition. It also comes complete with the original key and pendulum. The measurements are 8 ½” wide x 9 ¼” high x 5 ½ deep. This helps ensure that the new owner will have a satisfying experience. Be very sure to save all packaging material if there is a problem. All sales are final (with the exception noted below). It is nearly impossible to find one in “mint” condition. If a clock has damage from misuse, it will be noted. ANTIQUE SETH THOMAS 8-DAY SPRING CLOCK + KEY Mahogany Wood Beehive Shelf Mantel. Very nice antique 8-Day Spring clock made by Seth Thomas in the United States. Made from a beautiful dark hardwood, likely mahogany, and features a beehive shape with rounded corners. Black roman numerals against a bone-white metal face. Measures approximately 15″ tall x 10 3/4″ wide x 4 deep. Age-appropriate wear, dust and dirt. Some of the paint on the face is chipping. The clock is currently NOT keeping time, it ticks and chimes (really lovely sound) when moved around then stops after a few moments. We’ve decided not to take the back off and leave as-is, but safe to assume that it needs cleaning and servicing. A fantastic project piece, or even just to add to your collection as-is!
