An antique lacquer stamp / wax seal stamp. Made in the 19th century, in Holland. The matrix shows a. Bee-hive and the word or name Yver. The whole image, with the ears of corn and a tree on a field, we could not find documented. YVER can be a name, also written as IJVER, an Amsterdam family name. The last 2 pictures here (not included with the sale), show old prints with a bee-hive and Yver. The one with the two cartouches has the name Jacobus de Roy. See Stadsarchief Amsterdam with search: Yver. But no connection found with our matrix’ image. Other ways of writing the name are: Jacobus Johannes / Johannes Jacobs de Roy / Jacome / Jan de Roi / de Roij / Le Roy / de Roeij. The single is of the a emblem of the city theatre Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam – Regentenkamer – Yver. But Yver can also be a word, now written as: ijver, Dutch for diligence. Vintage mid century tree with beehive working table lighter. This is truly a unique item. I’ve tried to find something similar, but can’t find a thing. With lots of lovely textures. It has no markings whatsoever- with a hole underneath. It looks to me like it could be silver plated- but I can’t be sure. It’s a great little object, with amazing details. The lighter works, and is removable. There are four little ashtrays in the drawer. The little bucket can be removed. There is even a snail crawling around the tiny knob on the drawer.
