BEST INSULATION ON THE MARKET! Made to fit National Hives! Ekes can be made to increase the size coverage, but it fits over a 14×12 and a super comfortably. Have you ever got to late autumn and realised you still have insulation to make to keep your girls nice and cosy this winter? Well we do all the hard work for you! In this insulation pack, you get everything to keep your bees nice and toasty this winter. It comes flat packed in the lid, which makes it much easier to store in the spring/summer, and consists of four sides of 3 inch polyurethane painted with a rubberised paint, Plasti Dip, which keeps the polyurethane UV stable and the rubber in the paint protects it from bumps and scrapes. Assemble the four sides together with the supplied strap, using the metal corner pieces to ensure they don’t slip. Once constructed, simply slide it over any National hive. The lid then slips over the entire insulation, keeping it water tight! Having insulation on a hive over winter will help the bees keeping the hive warm. No matter what, they will keep the hive warm, however, the more they have to work to keep the hive warm, the more stores they will eat through. Having insulation helps the bees by reducing the amount of heat lost from the hive. Please note, this is all made in house and so can take a few weeks to make from start to finish. Other colours are available but as we don’t stock those colours they would be on request only on 5+ insulation covers of the same colour. These colours include Black, Black and Blue, Black Cherry, Purple, Brown, Flex Blue, Gun Metal Grey, Tangerine, White and Anthracite Grey.
