I bought this a couple of years ago with a mind to gradually swap my national bee hives over to these but just haven’t had the time or motivation, so I’m staying old school. The fella I bought this from had two flow hives already, and kept them indoors. He just had a tube going from the side to an outside port, and he’s converted this one to do the same (as seen in the last two photos). It seemed to work well! I’ve left it in case a new owner wants to do the same, but it would be no problem to block that hole and just leave the main entrance as normal. Just don’t forget to block the main entrance if you do use it indoors, unless you want a house full of bees! It comes with all the tubes, feeder, instructions etc. I’ve listed it as new (other) as it’s obviously never been used. It’s too cumbersome to post, so I’ve listed it for collection, but I can deliver if your local.

How Bees Survive The Cold Weather
National Cedar Beehive with Pine Roof Fully Assembled
Complete National Cedar Beehive, Good Quality Varroa floor, Brood box, slotted steel Queen excluder, Two Supers, Universal Crown Board, and a Pine roof with metal cover. These are cedar hives, fully assembled, made up from second grade timber, in the bee shed over the winter. Second grade timber has a specific definition, and has more knots and visual blemishes than first grade timber character! Cedar can be left unpainted and weathers to a natural grey finish, or they can be treated with an oil or water based paint. It is extremely durable and naturally rot resistant. The hive is fully assembled, using waterproof glue and nails. I use Pine roofs, because they are heavier than cedar and withstand high winds in winter. The Varroa floor is very good quality, with a durable wipe clean insert, and entrance block. The universal crown board is deeper on one side than the other to allow space for varroa treatment and feeding. Any questions please ask. National Poly bee hive 14×12
A Paynes Poly Beehive, National 14×12 (Jumbo hive). Used once in 2023 to transport bees, now surplus to requirements. Excellent condition, comes with mesh floor, plastic entrance block, clear perspex crown board, roof and a travelling screen. Compatible with National supers (not included). They are all the same age, five or six years, and in the same quite good condition. They have recently been given an external top-up coat of decking oil and they have been sterilized internally by scorching. The supers are in very good condition because they have always been stored indoors over winter. Each hive consists of:- Hive stand with landing board made from treated pine. A cedar National 14×12 deep brood box with stainless steel runners. Wood framed stainless steel queen excluder. Two cedar National supers with 10 frame castelation spacers.
