The top bar bee hive will be manufactured from untreated pine for the main body, ply for the lift off roof and steel mesh # 8 for the bottom. Whilst the pine is rarely flat and not always straight It is robustly made to withstand the elements, cascamite glued and screwed. The roof will require covering either with paint / varnish or any waterproof material (preferably not black as this absorbs the heat and may provide discomfort for the bees). The legs are made from treated 2 x 4 pine and secured with bolts and can easily be removed if required. Inside dimensions are approximately 40.5″ x 12.75″ (at top) 5.25″ at bottom and 12″ deep. Included are 10 top bars and 2 follower boards, one with a hole to allow bees to pass through to the feeder. These hives are made to order. Beautiful and practical the National Beehive, carefully and solidly made checked construction. Practically tested in different atmospheric conditions by others beekeepers. Standard frames match with it. From the outside it’s covered with spruce wainscot. Inside there is air dilatation and 2-centimeter styrofoam insulation, thanks to which bees can maintain their own microclimate. Within the National Beehive is finished by pine or spruce boards. Using a 3.2 cm wide Hoffman frame, 11 frames are insert. In the pack you get. 2x super boxes for frames heigh 14cm. Brood box for frames height 21,5 cm. In around the roof is cut ventilation. The roof is covered aluminium offset plate. Inside is OSB, 2 cm styrofoam and vapor permeable membrane. The bottom is 9 cm high and consists of cut-out frames with a thick aluminum mesh and waterproof plywood. The comfortable design of the bottom allows for quick and trouble-free cleaning of the hive and control of varroosis after treatment. In the summer, the mesh on the bottom allows good ventilation. All boxes fit together, they can be stacked in any order as needed. Mounted, ready to used – dont have to do anything. For most quantities a discount is possible. I know this because I make and use my own hives for my bees. I just thought it would be nice to build some to sell during lockdown. All the bee spaces are correct, and it has been painted using 3 coats of Cuprinol outdoor paint, so it will last a long time. Entrance unit (half mesh, best of both worlds, underfloor entrance). Brood box with frames and foundation on request (14×12 available on request). 2 supers, only one with frames and foundation on request. Multi purpose crown board, built to fit a rapid feeder without the need for an eke. Shallow galvanised roof made with timber sides and it has 25mm insulation built into it.
