THIS LISTING IS FOR A VINTAGE, PERKO POLISHED BRASS BEEHIVE STERN LIGHT. IT IS DESIGNED WHERE YOU CAN RECESS MOST OF THE SHAFT BELOW DECK LEVEL. THERE IS A PUSH BUTTON BALL/LOCK QUICK RELEASE PIN AT THE BASE THAT ALLOWS IT TO SLIDE RETRACT FROM APROX 22″ DOWN TO APROX 7″ TALL. (SEE PHOTOS 9 – 11) THIS WILL MAKE IT A LOT LESS LIKELY TO GET DAMAGED WHEN THE BOAT IS COVERED. PERFECT FOR A VINTAGE RUNABOUT. IT HAS BEEN RECENTLY REWIRED WITH A NEW 1156 SIZE SOCKET AND HAS A NEW LOW DRAW LED BULB INSTALLED AND IS READY TO MOUNT AND USE, THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST COMMON BULB SOCKETS AND YOU CAN EASILY REPLACE THE LED BULB FOR A MORE TRADITIONAL INCANDESCENT TYPE BULB. IT MEASURES APROX 22 1/4″ TALL, THE BEEHIVE LENS IS THE LARGER APROX 2 1/2″ DIAMETER ONE AND HAS “PERKO” WITH A “C” UNDER IT, EMBOSSED ON THE TOP. THE FLAG IS APROX 18″ X 12″ AND IS NEW WITH SEWN STRIPES AND EMBROIDERED STARS. THE HEAVY RING ABOVE THE BOTTOM FLAG ATTACHMENT SPLIT RING IS TO WEIGH IT DOWN TO KEEP THE BOTTOM OF THE FLAG FROM RISING, IT’S EASILY REMOVED IF YOU DON’T WANT IT. THE BASE HAS A SLIGHT ANGLE TO IT (SEE PHOTOS) AND IT MEASURES APROX 2 DIAMETER. THE 3/4 OD BRASS TUBING IS THICKER WALLED THEN NORMALLY USED FOR A LIGHT STAFF, BUT IS WHAT I HAD ON HAND. THIS REALLY IS A BEAUTIFUL LIGHT AND WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION TO YOUR VINTAGE VESSEL, THIS TRULY IS YACHT JEWELRY AND REALLY MAKES A STATEMENT. THIS LISTING IS FOR A VINTAGE POLISHED BRASS BEEHIVE STERN LIGHT. PERFECT FOR YOUR VINTAGE RUNABOUT. IT HAS BEEN RECENTLY REWIRED WITH A NEW 1156 SIZE SOCKET AND HAS A NEW LOW DRAW LED BULB INSTALLED AND IS READY TO MOUNT AND USE, THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST COMMON BULB SOCKETS AND YOU CAN EASILY REPLACE THE LED BULB FOR A MORE TRADITIONAL INCANDESCENT TYPE BULB. THE NEW BULB SOCKET IS CONNECTED TO THE SOCKET WITH PROPER MARINE TINNED 16/2 WIRE WITH CRIMP ON BUTT CONNECTORS AND OVER THAT IS HEAT SHRINK WIRE WRAP TUBING THAT HAS BEEN HEAT SEALED, SHOULD STAY DRY. FROM THE BASE THERE IS AN APROX 24 LEAD. IT MEASURES APROX 22 1/4″ TALL, THE BEEHIVE LENS IS THE LARGER APROX 2 1/2″ DIAMETER ONE. THE LAVENDER COLORED GLASS ON THIS REALLY SPARKLES, IT HAS VERTICAL RIDGES MOLDED INTO THE INSIDE OF THE GLOBE, MOST OF THESE ONLY HAVE THE HORIZONTAL RIDGES/RIBS ON THE OUTSIDE, THIS HAS BOTH (SEE PHOTOS). HE GLASS ON THIS HAS THE HARD TO COME BY PURPLE/VIOLET HUE FROM MANY YEARS BEING IN THE SUN, I FOUND THIS ONLINE ABOUT OLD PURPLE GLASS. I ALSO HAVE SOME BOW LIGHTS WITH THE LAVEDER GLASS IN SEPARATE LISTINGS. American glass manufactured between 1860 and 1915 was made with manganese, which imbued the glass with an interesting trait; the glass turned purple when submitted to prolonged exposure to UV rays. THE FLAG IS APROX 18″ X 13″ AND IS NEW WITH HEAVILY SEWN STRIPES AND EMBROIDERED STARS. THE HEAVY RING ABOVE THE BOTTOM FLAG ATTACHMENT SPLIT RING IS TO HELP KEEP THE BOTTOM OF THE FLAG FROM RISING, IT’S EASILY REMOVED IF YOU DON’T WANT IT. THE HEAVY, CAST BRONZE BASE OPENS WITH A HEAVY DUTY CAST BRONZE WING NUT SO THAT THIS CAN BE EASILY REMOVED, OR YOU COULD RECESS IT DOWN SO IT IS LESS APT TO GET BROKEN WHEN THE BOAT IS COVERED, (SEE 11TH PHOTO) YOU WOULD JUST NEED A MALE/FEMALE PLUG/SOCKET TO CONNECT IT. THE BASE HAS NICE PATINA BUT IF YOU WANT IT TO MATCH I CAN POLISH IT TO MATCH, BUT THAT WOULDN’T BE MY RECOMMENDATION. ANTIQUE OPALINE WHITE GLASS BEEHIVE SHAPED PENDANT LIGHT. A delightful light in a most unusual shape. The opaline glass has been formed into a beehive shape with a graduated ring design. This light dates back to the early Art Deco period and has an aged brass gallery. White opaline glass is opaque and gives off a wonderful even glow when lit. Size overall height 38cm from bottom of shade to top of gallery hook. This light will be wired with 1 metre of dark brown antique style braided flex. If you would like an alternative colour, please enquire as there is a wide choice of colours available. Additional length of cable is available on request also. Please allow 7 days for dispatch. All our restored period lighting is supplied with 1 metre of suspension chain and a hooked ceiling plate. This light will be wired to order with a new B22 bulb holder and PAT tested prior to dispatch.
