ANTIQUE PORCELAIN BEE HIVE MARK RETICULATED 9 3/4 PLATE 1850s

This armorial plate is reticulated and features an eagle bearing laurel in one talon and a quiver of arrows in the other. 13 stars form a constellation above the eagle who is holding a banner in its beak. It bears The beehive mark of Royal Vienna which was actually manufactured by a number of studios. It is numbered in gilded numbers “2251”. The foot is also pierced so that it may be hung from the wall as a display piece. The rim is nicely gilded. The overall condition is excellent. Royal Vienna Trinket Dresser Box Porcelain Beehive Antique Couple Love

This is an Antique. Made by Royal Vienna Porcelain. The box is marked with beehive mark in blue under glaze. It is quite rare and unusual example of Royal Vienna Porcelain. The Box is 3 7/8″ by 2 3/4″ at the rim and 2 1/2 with the lid. The box is in good antique condition. There is some gold loss. It look like there is an old repair on the rim. Would have a place in any collection. This is a piece of history that everyone will be proud to have. It was founded in 1718 and continued until 1864. The firm was Europe’s second-oldest porcelain factory after Meissen porcelain, and for 25 years the two remained the only European producers. Initially it was a private enterprise, founded by Claude du Paquier, an official of the Viennese Imperial court, but in 1744 it was rescued from financial difficulties when bought by the Empress Maria Theresa, and thereafter remained an asset of the emperors. The wares from the earlier, private period before 1744 are the most sought-after today, if only because production was lower and so the pieces are much more rare. These are often called Du Paquier porcelain from the Du Paquier factory. The other high point, “perhaps the factory’s most glamorous period”, was from 1784 to 1805 when a variety of innovative wares in broadly Neoclassical styles were produced, then with Sèvres porcelain the main influence. A very fine antique porcelain box, Royal Vienna. This pretty antique porcelain box is ALL hand painted and decorated. The miniature on the lid show Marie Louis de Tassis (1611- 1638) Belgium, and this name is shown at the bottom of the box (as shown in photos), the miniature is signed by the artist Ulmer (as shown in photos). The gold gilding decoration is on the lid and box , decorated with floral motifs in high relief technique (raised gold), which gives more elegance and luxury to the piece. Dark green color (not common color). The inside is decorated with gold gilding too. A blue under glaze beehive mark at the base (as shown in photos). Two 1900s Ackermann & Fritze Royal Vienna Beehive Porcelain Sets

Two 1900s Ackermann & Fritze Volkstedt Royal Vienna style porcelain Cup and Saucer matched set. Beehive/Shield with gilt painted number (4) identifying the painter on each piece. Beautiful hand painted sky-floating heavenly Cherub angels shown with rose flowered wreaths and cherubs holding flower baskets, one with bow and arrow another with sparkling red torches and one holding a staff and dove. The sets are painted in a soft turquoise color with gold damask accents. Gilt handles and rims. Ackermann and Fritze was established in Rudolstadt-Volkstedt Germany in 1908, manufacturing fine luxury porcelain. There are several marks on the bottom of these lovely pieces. Each piece has been numbered with number 4 painted in gilt. Numbers were added to the the undersides to ensure painters responsible for the piece(s) were paid for the right pieces. Saucers show several impressed letters and numbers. “Moulders and turners were assigned numbers from 0-60″. The number 15 can be seen impressed on a saucer. Other impressed marks would indicate internal company marks and information possibly plant location? Of which I could not determine. Visible company impressions are marked on one saucer in the set — K, 471, and 1, along with moulder/turner’s number 15. All four pieces are marked with painter’s number 4. Cups measure 3-3/4″ wide, 2″ tall. This Royal Vienna porcelain set is in beautiful excellent condition. No cracks or crazing. A slight chip on one saucer rim as shown in last picture. Requests have been made to separate this set of 4 into two separate sets of 2 pieces each. One saucer contains all the important Ackermann & Fritze Royal Vienna markings (factory, location, turner, more) of the porcelain’s origin. If separated, one of the two cup & saucer sets contains the very most important part of the Royal Vienna set… One saucer in the 4-piece matched set contains the embedded. Provenance of the set. For this reason I feel it is important to keep the set together as not to lose provenance in one set.
