Seth Thomas Beehive Case Clock Westminster Chimes Running Striking & Chiming 4 Rod Strike. Here is an opportunity to own a Seth Thomas Beehive Case Chime Clock that is in nice condition. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep it for yourself! Nice Seth Thomas mantel clock. This is a 4 rod Chime Clock. The clock dates to the mid 1910s period. This clock was probably made in the mid 1910’s period. Not sure what model this is yet. You be the judge at to the clock’s age and the model number before acquiring. Nice mahogany case on this clock. No cracks, repairs or splits to the case. The finish to the case does show some finish wear from time. See nothing on the inside of the case or the outside to show that it was ever refinished at any time. The 8 day brass clock and chime movements appear to be in good condition. The three wind springs feel sound when keyed. The chimes unit does the Westminster Chimes and does strike the hours as expected. The clock movements were just serviced by Clock Doc. The appropriate pendulum bob is with the clock. The chimes unit is a number 119. The time/strike unit is a number 89AM. The brass plates of the time and chimes’ units show some loss of finish from oiling and time over the years. The clock is made to chime every 15 minutes and then chimes, and strikes the number of hours on the hour. The chimes unit is to the Westminster chime sound. Currently running, striking, and chiming as expected. The brass plate and arm is in place to lift the strike hammers when you wish to silence the clock. The face of the clock does show some moderate wear to the silver colored finish. Says “Sonora Chime” and “Made by Seth Thomas” in USA on the face. Appears to be made of tin and has black colored numbers. Beautiful gold colored trim ring around the face. The hands match and look appropriate to the clock. The wood door is in place, and the beveled glass is there as well. No cracks or blistering to the glass. The rear door of the clock is still in place as is the latch that holds it in place. Has some paper on the back door that we did not attempt to remove. The clock only comes with the 4 wood wafer feet in place. The clock will come with a winding key. The clock stands 14-15/16″ tall, by 10.25″ across, by 8 wide (counting glass and back knob). The clock face is 5.5 across. This was definitely a quality clock made around 100 years ago. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art. Vintage Seth Thomas Sonora 5 Bell Chime Clock # 14 Beehive Case Runs James Armiger Baltimore MD. Here is an opportunity to own a Seth Thomas Sonora Chime Bell Clock that is in very nice condition. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! Very unique one here. This is a 5 Bell Sonora #14 Chime Clock. The clock dates to the mid 1910s period. We can therefore better control our acquisition costs, keep commission costs low (if applicable), and finally, we don’t have the overhead that the higher end houses and galleries pass on to their clients. There is nothing like the sound of a bell versus a rod strike/chime clock. Once you have one, you will have a hard time every finding a rod or gong clock whose sound you like better. Few of these clocks were made. This clock was probably made in the mid 1910’s period. Not sure what model this is yet. You be the judge at to the clock’s age and the model number before acquiring. Nice solid wood mahogany case on this clock. No cracks, repairs or splits to the case. The finish to the case does show some finish wear from time. See nothing on the inside of the case or the outside to show that it was ever refinished at any time. The 8 day brass clock and chime movements appear to be in good condition. The three wind springs feel sound when keyed. The appropriate pendulum bob is with the clock has an embossed image on it. The chimes unit is a number 90B. The time/strike unit is a number 89O. The brass plates of the time and chimes’ units show some loss of finish from oiling and time over the years. Each of the bells, is about 2.75 in diameter, and all sound great when the clock strikes and chimes. The hour strike bell is slightly larger. None of the bells have any cracks or other damage that would impede their sound. The clock was made to chime every 15 minutes and then chimes, and strikes the number of hours on the hour. The chimes unit is to the Westminster chime sound. Not striking, and chiming as expected when should activate, will strike and chime when manually activated. The brass plate is in place to lift the strike hammers when you wish to silence the clock. The nest of bells look good, other than needing a good cleaning and are securely attached to the case. The face of the clock does show some moderate wear to the silver colored finish. Says “Sonora Chime” and “Made by Seth Thomas” in USA on the face. The face appears to be made of tin and has black colored numbers. Beautiful gold colored trim ring around the face. The face and bezel are loose from the case and the left side of the bezel moves down when door opened making wind arbors not lining up with holes. The clock hands match and look appropriate to the clock. The wood door is in place, and the beveled glass is there as well. No cracks or blistering to the glass. The rear door of the clock is still in place as is the latch that holds it in place. The clock comes with the 4 brass feet. There is no representation that the clock is in original condition, or will continue to be in working order. The clock will come with a winding key. The clock stands 14-1/8″ tall, by 10″ across, by 7 wide. The clock face is 5-3/8 across. This was definitely a quality clock made around 100 years ago. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art. Antique New Haven 8 Day Chiming Beehive Style Mantle Clock RUNS

Antique New Haven 8 Day Chiming Beehive Style Mantle Clock RUNS. Here is a very nicely styled antique shelf clock made by the New Haven Clock Co. USA during the early 1900’s. The original label names it the Aurora. It has the original signed New Haven 8 day time and strike movement which is running good, keeping time and gonging properly. It counts the hour and announces each half hour on an antique cathedral style gong. It has the original signed porcelain dial and solid brass bezel and beveled glass crystal assembly that is in very nice condition for its age. There may be light scratches on the glass which is common on all antique clocks. The beehive or cathedral style case measures 12 ½” high x 8 ½” wide x 5 deep and still has the original finish. It is in nice shape, but is worn and aged, so should be expected to look antique or rustic in appearance. This clock really needs nothing but winding to be able to sit up on the mantle and enjoy. It comes complete with the original pendulum and a key that fits. This helps insure that the new owner will have a satifying experience. Be very sure to save all packaging material if there is a problem. All sales are final, (with the exception noted below). It is nearly impossible to find one in “mint” condition. If a clock has damage from misuse, it will be noted. If a clock is running properly when it arrives… Thats about the best we can do. We try to describe everything exactly as it is and if we do something wrong, we will make it right. We do not use our computers on Sunday, the Lord’s day, but will answer any emails Monday through Saturday and do whatever we can to resolve any problems. Honesty is always the best policy.
