Our beehives are manufactured in small factories in Greece using sustainably sourced pine from Austria and the Czech Republic. Our deep super/brood box and shallow supers feature metal frame rails and hand holds for all four sides. Metal excluder is high quality and constructed with galvanised steel and wire. Constructed from plywood and pine. Has a large mesh covered area to ensure ventilation and to observe the colony without disturbance. Its in the roof space covering the whole top of the hive, whilst still retaining plenty of ventilation. Made from thick ABS plastic, it is also an excellent insulator. Our high quality floors come solid or ventilated so humidity and temperature can be maintained throughout the hive. We supply these hives as they come from the factory, and they will need some minor preparation (filling and sanding) before painting or varnishing. They are made to be functional rather than decorative, though with very little work a perfect finish can be obtained. We believe that the quality of materials used is most important.
