This model number is shown in the Seth Thomas Tran Duy Ly Book. Original factory finish on this ribbon mahogany cabinet. The clock also has a raised trim over the center part of the front of the cabinet. The clock has seen very good care and there are no signs of neglect or abuse. This Seth Thomas Westminster chime clock has been sitting for over thirty years in my collection, it will require restoration. This Westminster Chime Clock was another Seth Thomas Classic of the 1940’s. The 5 3/8 inch raised timetrack along with the fancy open cut Deco style brass hands give the dial and extremely stylish look against the mahogany cabinet. This clock shows no signs of abuse or neglect. With normal restoration on the movement you will have a great Westminster chime clock. The springs are fine in the clock. This clock also has its original brass bezel and convex glass to protect the dial. Also the Seth Thomas name can be found on the dial as well. This clock measures 8 1/4 inches in length by 10 3/4 inches in height. The cabinet has its original factory mahogany finish and it still retains a nice shine after 80 years after leaving the Seth Thomas factory. The case has a little wear on it as you can see this in my photo’s but it is an used antique and this would have some on it. The case is in very good condition there are no broken or missing trim pieces and there are no loose joints or anything coming apart. Seth Thomas quality and craftsmanship all the way in this clock. Original Seth Thomas cast iron & brass pendulum disc & winding key. The movement model is a Seth Thomas 124 movement it is in very good operating condition. It is a eight day spring wound time & strike movement that announces and counts the quarter hours leading up to the hour. It announces a tune for the first quarter hour followed by a another tune for the half hour and three tunes for the 3/4 hour leading up to playing four tunes and then proceeding to count the desired hour it is on. This chime system works off of 5 chime hammers on five good quality chime rods. This movement was also ultrasonically cleaned and oiled. This movement has been keeping good time here at the house and striking the hour and half hour correctly as well. These clocks do require proper set up and adjustments to make them fully operational and to get 100 percent enjoyment out of the delicate instruments.
