These beehives are crafted from high-quality fir or pine which requires treating every couple of years and will last a lifetime if properly cared for. You can treat beehives with a spray bottle containing tung oil or by rubbing beeswax polish into the wood every couple of years and is completely non-invasive alternatively, you can paint the external hive with a high-quality, non-toxic masonry or fence paint.
