Introduced in 2006, these were the first beehive valve springs available to the 4g63 platform. They are the best spring set you can use when targeting boost levels up to about 45psi and 11,000rpm. Featuring PAC ovate wire “beehive” springs, designed with s a stress-optimized profile that minimizes spring mass and maximizes natural frequency. This means better stability at high rpm usage. The beehive design also features a variable natural frequency, resulting in better stability during surge points and self-damping. Combining these advanced design features with aerospace quality production and shotpeening results in a high performing, reliable combination. The spring set includes our proprietary titanium retainers and steel seats to achieve an appropriate seat pressure that will prevent excessive wear in long-term street applications. The precision CNC machined grade 5 titanium retainers are optimized for mass and stress levels using finite element analysis and packaged for maximum clearance to the valve stem seals. Any OEM replacement or smaller diameter valve seals can be used and clearance to the retainer is about 14mm. In higher boost drag racing applications these springs can be shimmed for increased seat pressure. The limiting factor in the 4G63 valvetrain is typically boost levels, not RPM. To protect against this, we recommend targeting seat pressure at about 1.7x your absolute manifold pressure (boost + 14.7psi). Antique Porcelain German Beer Stein Royal Vienna Beehive Mark Rinaldo and Armida signed Kaufmann c. Description: Beautiful highly decorated porcelain beer stein depicting several scenes on ancient subjects. The decorations are beautifully hand-painted, very intensively gilt and has some enamel relief elements. The lid is made of brass mounts with porcelain incert that is also hand-painted on the inside and outside. I think the theme of the painting is a scene from the epic poem “Gerusalemme liberata” by Torquato Tasso. It tells the story of Rinaldo and Armida. In this poem Rinaldo is a fierce and determined warrior who is also honorable and handsome. Armida has been sent to stop the Christians from completing their mission and is about to murder the sleeping soldier, but instead she falls in love. She creates an enchanted garden where she holds him a lovesick prisoner. Overall – a fantastically decorated piece – a one of a kind treasure. The steins of this kind are usually called “Royal Vienna” style. Even though the original “Imperial and Royal Vienna Porcelain Factory” was closed in 1864. Some of the smaller factories in Austria were given their molds and employed their artists. They continue to use the Bindenschild mark. The Bindenschild mark is often called “Beehive” because when turned upside down it resemples the beehive. However, this is a German heraldic element, a shield taken from the Coat-of-Arms of Austrian Hapsburg family. The decoration is signed “Kaufmann”. This is the signature for Angelika Kaufmann, an artist who seemed to have worked for several factories that made items in Royal Vienna style in 1870s-1900. The brass mounts – the hindge and the thumblift – indicate that the stein was made in early 1870s even though traditionally these steins are dated as ” around 1900″. Some very similar steins are featured on pages 129-131 0f “The Beer Stein Book” by Gary Kirsner. It looks like the inlay of the lid was repaired at some point. The repairs were done very professionally and are very hard to determine. The body of the stein is in excellent flawless condition, there is some wear to the gold on the handle, but no damage, lines or repairs of any kind. It is 6.5 tall to the top of the thumblift, 0.5L capacity. Condition: Body excellent, inlay repaired. Maker: Royal Vienna type. Height: 6.5 in. Get images that make Supersized seem small. This is the set up I use as it gives 2 brood for the bees to expand in with less likely hood of swarming and also 2 supers to lay the honey. Seth Thomas Beehive Case Clock Westminster Chimes Running Striking & Chiming 4 Rod Strike. Here is an opportunity to own a Seth Thomas Beehive Case Chime Clock that is in nice condition. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep it for yourself! Nice Seth Thomas mantel clock. This is a 4 rod Chime Clock. The clock dates to the mid 1910s period. This clock was probably made in the mid 1910’s period. Not sure what model this is yet. You be the judge at to the clock’s age and the model number before acquiring. Nice mahogany case on this clock. No cracks, repairs or splits to the case. The finish to the case does show some finish wear from time. See nothing on the inside of the case or the outside to show that it was ever refinished at any time. The 8 day brass clock and chime movements appear to be in good condition. The three wind springs feel sound when keyed. The chimes unit does the Westminster Chimes and does strike the hours as expected. The clock movements were just serviced by Clock Doc. The appropriate pendulum bob is with the clock. The chimes unit is a number 119. The time/strike unit is a number 89AM. The brass plates of the time and chimes’ units show some loss of finish from oiling and time over the years. The clock is made to chime every 15 minutes and then chimes, and strikes the number of hours on the hour. The chimes unit is to the Westminster chime sound. Currently running, striking, and chiming as expected. The brass plate and arm is in place to lift the strike hammers when you wish to silence the clock. The face of the clock does show some moderate wear to the silver colored finish. Says “Sonora Chime” and “Made by Seth Thomas” in USA on the face. Appears to be made of tin and has black colored numbers. Beautiful gold colored trim ring around the face. The hands match and look appropriate to the clock. The wood door is in place, and the beveled glass is there as well. No cracks or blistering to the glass. The rear door of the clock is still in place as is the latch that holds it in place. Has some paper on the back door that we did not attempt to remove. The clock only comes with the 4 wood wafer feet in place. The clock will come with a winding key. The clock stands 14-15/16″ tall, by 10.25″ across, by 8 wide (counting glass and back knob). The clock face is 5.5 across. This was definitely a quality clock made around 100 years ago. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocks before, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have the patience, and skill to work with these great works of art. They are not our modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks. The pictures provided both complement and supplement the listing description, so please look at them very closely as well. With old items, there is no way one can capture all the little imperfections in words, so the two media are meant to be the full description. Make sure that this clock meets your needs and requirements before deciding to acquire it.
